Reception[]

This segment had received generally positive reviews. The choice of Seth MacFarlane as the voice of Crooner Dog was initially considered controversial, specially due to MacFarlane being the creator of the adult animated shows Family Guy and American Dad! and director of the adult live-action black comedy film Ted. However, in an interview to CNN, Tom Ruegger affirmed that his choice is not supposed to be controversial, specially due to MacFarlane's work on Hanna-Barbera in the late 1990s and being the voice of Mike the Mouse in the Universal Pictures/Illumination Entertaiment film Sing.

Trivia[]

  • MacFarlane used his natural speaking and singing voice (also used for Brian Griffin) for the role of the Crooner Dog, whilst Paulsen used his Southern accent for the role of the hillbilly owner.
  • This segment is the only one-shot to have a sequel.
