Hedgehog Beats Hare is a Merrie Melodies story written by Ian A. Neumann, starring Bugs Bunny. This story also stars Sonic the Hedgehog as he would be appearing in a lot of different stories. It also features other Looney Tunes Characters as well as characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. (Amy Rose, Shadow the Hedgehog and Rouge the Bat would also be appearing in a lot of different stories as well, sometimes with Sonic or sometimes just Amy and Rouge or Shadow and Rouge.)

After being infuriated upon reading the story of "The Hedgehog and the Hare", Bugs Bunny challenges Sonic the Hedgehog to a race to determine who's the fastest mammal of all, and they pull all sorts of gags and tricks on each other along the way. But as they outdo each other, a mysteriosu third competitor enters the race as a formality. Who will win?
